  • 1856 – H J Gray plays Cricket for Cambridge
  • 1872 – W Gray plays Cricket for Middlesex
  • 1876 – L J Nicolls starts bat making Bats in Robertsbridge
  • 1881 – Nicolls products in Australia
  • 1889 – W G Grace uses a Gray Nicolls (GN) Bat to pass 1000 runs
  • 1891 – Grays First Factory and London Office
  • 1893 – KS Ranjitsinjhi uses Grays bats
  • 1897 – Drawing of Grays Bat in Ranjitsinjhi’s Jubilee Book of Cricket.
  • 1905 – England batsman Ranji and G. Hurst use Nicolls bats.
  • 1907 – Nicolls bats used by CB Fry
  • 1909 – Prince Albert (George VI) a customer.
  • 1914 – Grays factory turns to war work making posts, tables, forms & mallets.
  • 1930 – Grays first advertising campaign.
  • 1940 – Gray-Nicolls formed
  • 1945 – Wally Hammond uses Gray-Nicolls bat
  • 1956 – Keith Miller uses Gray-Nicolls
  • 1957 – Don Ward scores over 5000 runs with one Gray-Nicolls bat.
  • 1962 – Grays purpose build a sawmill
  • 1963 – West Indies team visit Grays.
  • 1966 – Two sided bat used in a Test Match
  • 1972 – Gray-Nicolls factory established in Melbourne, Australia
  • 1975 – Gray-Nicolls launch the Scoop
  • 1977 – Queen’s Silver Jubilee
  • 1977 – Bob Woolmer scores three Test centuries with GN Scoop.
  • 1979 – Wisden Cricket Monthly launched by Grays.
  • 1980 – Grays 125th Anniversary
  • 1985 – David Gower scores a record Ashes series aggregate with his GN Powerspot.
  • 1993 – Paul Griffiths – gets his first Gray Nicolls Bat – nearly new, Dynadrive.

  • 1993 – New Warehouse built at Robertsbridge
  • 1994 – Brian Lara scores 501 – the highest first class individual innings.
  • 1997 – Paul’s First Senior 50 v North Holmwood – Playing for Tadworth Cricket Club using a GN Dynadrive
  • 2000 – Floods engulf Robertsbridge
  • 2002 – Paul Griffiths scores 79 at Westcott Cricket Club using a Gray Nicolls Dynadrive
  • 2003 – Matthew Hayden scores Gray-Nicolls highest Test score.
  • 2004 – Andrew Strauss scores a Test Match debut 100 v NZ with a Gray Nicolls Powerbow
  • 2004 – Paul Griffiths scores 53 – to secure win at Claygate Cricket Club using a Gray Nicolls Dynadrive
  • 2008 – Mark Ramprakash scores his 100th hundred using a Gray Nicolls Powerbow.
  • 2016 – Tour of the Gray Nicolls Factory organised by Paul also invited Newdigate CC Juniors/Parents.
  • 2016 – Paul Griffiths also attends  Gray Nicolls Robertsbridge to choose two bats.
  • 2016 – Paul Griffiths sends his Willostix Ananconda to Gray Nicolls for there excellent Refurbishment service.
