Disclosure and Barring Service

respectsafeguardingCriminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks are now called Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks. Also known as a Criminal Records Check (CRC).

The roles in cricket that require ECB Vetting are:
  • Welfare Officer (Club, League, County)
  • Volunteer Co-ordinator
  • Coach (volunteer or paid, assistant or lead)
  • Umpire
  • Scorer
  • Colt/Junior Manager
  • Age Group Manager
  • Open-Age Team Captain
  • Junior Supervisor
  • First Aider / Physiotherapist / Medical Support

The roles in football that require FA Vetting are:

  • Club Welfare Officers
  • Team Managers
  • Coaches
  • First Aiders
  • Referees
  • Team Assistants
  • Regular Club Drivers.

DBS Update Service:
The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) update service lets applicants keep their DBS certificates up to date online and allows employers (schools, clubs etc)  to check a certificate online.

Recommended – Sign up when you next renew : It is £ 13 a year – but free for volunteers.
